Hudson County, NJ -- This story illustrates the life saving power of an automated external defibrillator ("AED") in the work place. A healthy 34-year old woman went into sudden cardiac arrest during a meeting at work.  Her co-workers sprang into action, utilizing the AED which the company had just purchased a week before the incident. The American Heart Association says that in cases when defibrillation is provided within five to seven minutes, the survival rate from sudden cardiac arrest is as high as 30 to 45 percent.
